I think that one of the moat interesting things that I
learned from researching the words from the Apostles and Prophets about
forgiveness is that not only have they taught us the importance of forgiving
others, but they have also specifically taught us the importance of forgiving
ourselves.
I in our world the adversary would try to convince us that
we are nothing and horrible because we’ve made mistakes. We need to remember, “Behold,
he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord,
remember them no more.” (D&C 58:42) Yes we do make mistakes, but because of
the Savior’s Atonement we can be forgiven and He will help us forgive
ourselves, and heal our memories, scars, and regrets. It’s not always easy, and
it doesn’t always come quickly, but it will come.
