Our Savoir's Atonement

The Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ is truly one of the greatest gifts of love that our Heavenly Father could have given us. As it says in John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Our Heavenly Father wants us to succeed in this life, not fail. That is why he gave his only begotten Son to perform the Atonement, so that each of us can repent of all of our sins and live with him once more, and inherit his kingdom and all of the blessings he has promised us.

I think that one of the most common error that we make, in regards to the Atonement, is that we think that we can only use it and partake of it’s blessings if we’ve done something wrong. Which is simply not true. Our Savior did not just suffer for our sins, but he experienced all of the pain, sorrows, and grief that we would experience in our lives. His Atonement is a healing balm to comfort from all our sorrows in this life.

I know that this is true, because of all of my personal struggles in this life. I am looking forward to the day when I can bathe my Lord’s feet with my tears of gratitude for what he has done for me, and every other being who has walked this earth.

Hope To Save Us From Pornography

The subject of Pornography has always been hard for me to talk about. I have had three loved ones who have been affected by this monster that has become Satan’s greatest weapon and trap against us. But the Lord has provided ways for us to be clean, protected, and healed from this disease that is affecting our world. Those ways are the Atonement, the words and counsel of his Prophets and Apostles, and living worthy of his Spirit that will protect us.
Our Heavenly Father loves us, and will do all he can to protect us from harm, if we let him by keeping his commandments. Satan would convince us that there is no hope once we get caught in his traps. But that is a lie! There is always hope through our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. He is our advocate and ally against sin and will never abandon us. We will succeed in our battle against sin, for light will always overcome darkness. Don't give up. Put your trust in the Lord, for in him there always is hope.

The Temple

For me, the Temple on one of the most precious things that our Heavenly Father has given us as a sign of his love for us. Often, people who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints think that what goes on in our Temples in secret. They are not secret, but sacred. With in there holy walls we perform ordinances and make sacred covenants with God, once for ourselves, and every after in behalf of our kindred dead.

I know that also people are concerned that we do work for the dead, because they think that they don’t have a choice. Actually, the people who we perform these ordinances and covenants in behalf of, because of their agency, do have the choice if they want to accept them or not. It’s not our Heavenly Father’s way to force His children to do anything.

One of the most precious blessings of the Temple is that when a man and a woman are married and sealed within it’s walls; it makes it possible for them to live with their families for time and for all eternity. It provides us with the sweet assurance that even after death we will see our family members again, and that they will always be ours; no matter what.
