People often accuse members of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, that we don’t believe in Grace, and that we are trying to
earn our way into heaven. We do believe in Grace, and we are so grateful for
it! We’re not trying earn our way into heaven. As Brother Brad Wilcox, a LDS
author and inspirational speaker, said, “No, we are not earning heaven. We are
learning heaven. We are preparing for it. We are practicing for it.” (“His
Grace is Sufficient” by Brad Wilcox).
Another LDS author, Robert L. Millet, explained Grace to
beautifully, “Grace represents God’s acceptance of me. Faith represents my
acceptance of God’s acceptance of me. Peace is my acceptance of me.” (“Are We
There Yet?” by Robert L. Millet).
His Grace is sufficient after all we can do, and I do not know what I would do
without it. Grace is a gift, and we show our gratitude for that gift by helping
others come unto to Him; that they might partake of His gift of grace as well.
