I remember the first time that I read the Book of Mormon
cover to cover, and prayed to know that it was true. I was only sixteen at the
time, and I loved studying the Book of Mormon, but I had actually never read it
all the way through by myself. So I did, and it was a wonderful experience! As
I finished the last verse, I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father if it was
true. As I knelt there praying, the Spirit testified to my mind and heart that
the Book of Mormon is true.
After my experience,
I can never deny that the Book of Mormon is true, that is was translated by the
Prophet Joseph Smith through divine revelation from the Lord, that is was
written for our day, that it testifies of our Savior Jesus Christ, or that it
is evidence of our Heavenly Father’s love for us. It is true, and the testimony
that I have of that grows deeper as I continue to study it’s pages.
